Given the fact, that one of GKS’ first clients was a large Swiss university from Zürich it’s always a special pleasure to visit the Alpenrepublik.ch for learning about Swiss evaluation culture in general and software usage in particular – just as in this case.

In order to catch up with fellow Clojurians and software folks the GKS development team heads for Berlin, getting two conferences with with one go: ClojureD and BobKonf 2020.

As most of our German Qurricula clients are involved with institutional accreditation (Systemakkreditierung),GKS looks very much forward to learning about what alternative procedures the speakers of the Centre for Higher Education (Centrum für Hochschulentwicklung)’s conference “Alternative Verfahren zur Systemakkreditierung” will present to the audience in Berlin.

The EvaSys customer conference is a regular event in the Grabow & Kiss Software GmbH calendar. This year´s focus will – again – be on digitalisation in the area of evaluation and QM.

One of the biggest challenges for charitable NGOs and support organisations is to present the quality of their work in numbers as well. Within the Impact Academy, Grabow & Kiss Software Kft. and a network of experts are helping NGOs overcome this very hurdle.

Approximately two years ago, GKS began to look deeper into fields like system and programme accreditation. Together with Heidelberg University, we developed a software solution that has now grown into an independent industry solution: Qurricula, which will be introduced at the 2019 member conference of ACQUIN, the Accreditation, Certification and Quality Assurance Institute.

Attending conferences is always rewarding, mostly for the new information, insights and impetus it provides. But to absorb all these right on the spot is almost impossible, hence the importance of conference documentation, like that being released now for Nexus 2019.

A special opportunity is in the offing for GKS at the 2nd Exchange Forum for system-accredited HEIs at the beginning of April in Münster, Germany. The topics to be discussed there will be anything connected to system accreditation.

GKS is mainly active in two areas: higher education and healthcare. Besides professional necessity, it is his passion for his own product that prompts company founder Wolfgang Grabow to attend the spring conference of DeGEval Healthcare Working Group.

The New Year is once again packed with news for GKS: in the case of co-founder Wolfgang Grabow, this means attending the fifth international Conference for Quality Management and Quality Development in Higher Education in Graz at the beginning of February.

The annual EvaSys and EvaExam users´ conference will be held in Cologne on 18-19 September. This regular event offers a great opportunity for GKS, represented by founder Wolfgang Grabow, to present its latest product, “Qurricula – Quality Management in Higher Education and Research”.

Precision is essential when it comes to evaluation. So it´s natural that in Switzerland, evaluations are carried out with clockwork precision. Just as naturally, GKS has joined the Swiss confederate equivalent of DeGEval, SEVAL.

A new trend is placing new challenges ahead of evaluation services. Often, it is now not only important how well the teaching is done, but how well the transferred knowledge is used in practice later.

The dghd (German Association for Educational and Academic Staff Development in Higher Education) is the association of German-speaking countries (Germany, Austria, Switzerland). Its members are institutions or persons that work and do research in the field of academic development or that are interested in developing the quality of Higher Education in German-speaking countries.

The new semester hasn´t even started yet, but the Hamburg University of Applied Science (HAW) is already sending out invitations for a get-together to begin the new academic year with the usual high quality.

From June the 8th through June the 10th we’ll attend the ZuriHac 2018 – Haskell Hackathon in Raperswill, close to Zürich.

For the first time, GKS is set to attend a conference organised by the Evaluation Society as a member. The spring conference will be held by the Higher Education working committee. The topic, “Universities on new tracks” couldn´t be more exciting for GKS.
